How To Hang a TV on a Brick Wall
Step 1: Choose a Location
- Ensure your chosen location is near an electrical outlet and cable jack to minimize visible cables.
Step 2: Find the Installation Height
- Attach the bracket to the TV per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Measure the distance from the bottom of the bracket to the TV’s bottom.
- Add this to your desired TV height to find the exact position on the wall.
- Mark the location for the bracket on the wall.
Step 3: Mark the Drill Holes
- Hold the wall bracket against the wall at the correct height.
- Use a level to ensure the bracket is straight.
- Mark the screw hole locations on the brick using a permanent marker.
- Avoid mortar lines, as they are softer than brick and can affect the stability of the anchors.
Step 4: Drill the Holes
- Attach the masonry bit to your power drill and mark it with tape to match the length of your anchors or screws.
- Set the drill to the hammer function (if available) or high speed.
- Begin drilling into the brick, removing dust occasionally with a shop vac until the holes are the correct depth.
Step 5: Install Plastic Anchors (Skip to Step 6 if Using Concrete Screws)
- Use a rubber mallet or hammer to gently tap plastic anchors into the drilled holes.
- If they don’t fit easily, clear out extra dust with a shop vac.
Step 6: Install the Bracket
- Insert screws through the bracket and into the drilled holes.
- Tighten the screws using a drill or ratchet with a socket to secure the bracket.
Step 7: Install the TV
- For two-piece brackets, simply mount the TV to the wall bracket using the included locking screws or tabs (refer to the instructions).
- For one-piece brackets, have a helper hold the TV in place while you screw the bracket into the TV.
Step 8: Clean Up and Enjoy
- Conceal any hanging cables with a furniture piece or cable management solutions.
- Relax and enjoy your newly mounted TV!
With these steps, your TV will be securely mounted and ready to use.
